THE STUDIO

Brussels. First gallery in 1997, Mont des Arts from 2006. Some thirty years of practice, fifteen of them running a physical space.

One Brussels studio, two signatures: figuration under Nicolas Le Beuan Bénic, abstraction under Henri Boissière. Same printing standard, same edition of 25, each series held to the discipline of the other.

Method

The figurative series are photographed through inclined glass panes, so that reflections superimpose several planes within one image. The abstract series work by systematic variation — geometry, grid, module, colour held in measured tension.
